In August, together with my husband we started eating a slow carb diet, following the popular concept from the 4 Hour Body of Timothy Ferriss.
Our results were so spectacular with so little effort, that we felt that everybody who has troubles with their waistline should follow this concept. Here are the rules:
1. Avoid all white carbs - that is pasta, rice, bread, cereal.
2. Start the day with a high protein breakfast which should be consumed 30 minutes upon waking. Eggs time.
3. Avoid all dairy, all fruits (except tomato and avocado) and all sugars, including sodas and fruit juices. Drinking your calories is not smart. You can have unlimited amounts of water, coffee, tea or diet soda.
4. Have Cheat Day. This is by far the most amazing and liberating concept of diet world. One day a week, eat all you want, all you dreamed of having during the week but didn't, all the sugars, fries and bread. This is actually proven in the studies to aid the fat loss process by creating a shock in your body and making your metabolism go in super burning mode.
5. Consume unlimited amounts of:
vegetables - all
meat - beef, chicken, pork and fish
legumes - lentils, black and pinto beans.
This being said, what do you actually eat? We will explore our slow carb receipts in here, as well as the receipts of the unbelievable amounts of food and sugar we consume on Sundays - our cheat day. As we live in the middle of Vietnam and the nearest supermarket is 3 hours away with limited options, we make everything home, but feel free to substitute the lengthy process of making bread or a 3 layers cake with its supermarket versions :)
Enjoy and Bon Apetit!
